Hyperbole and a Half

Hyperbole and a Half is a combination of web comic and blog written by Allie Brosh - the book is a mix of older blog posts and new essays, all crudely illustrated (which gives them their charm) and written either with her special sense of humor or brutal honestly.

The subjects range from funny little adventures like the cake incident and moving with 2 dogs to a 2 part comic about depression posted after months when Allie stopped writing and fans started worrying. Her depression posts are said to be a great representation of how depression works and they have been highly acclaimed all over the web. 

Allie is responsible for creating some of what later turned into memes:

0:  Hi.  I am not experiencing any pain at all.  I don't know why I'm even here.

So get this book for a loved one. It's a gem and a wonder, funny and heartbreaking and fit for a gift for pretty much anyone older than 15 (some strong language).
